Monroe woman reports earlier run-in with dog

Excerpt: A dog that [fatally] mauled a 4-year-old girl this week in Prairie City has a history of aggressive behavior, according to a woman who had an encounter with the animal about four years ago.

Neighbors had called police four times in 2011 to complain about barking dogs or dogs that had escaped from the home where the [owners] lived.

Silencing barking dogs in Fort Collins: New law lets residents make anonymous complaints

Excerpt:  The city has changed the way animal control officers deal with complaints about barking dogs, making it easier for residents to anonymously complain. In the past, residents generally were required to provide a series of specific details about whose dogs were barking, what they looked like, where they lived and how often they were a problem. They also usually were required to sign the complaint.

Wareham Town Meeting puts teeth in new dog bylaws

Excerpt: Under the new laws, a dog owner will be in violation if their animal is disruptive between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. or if the dog continually barks for longer than 20 minutes at a time during the day.
